Présentation et compétences visées

Présentation

EPOG (Economic Policies in the Age of Globalisation) is an international Master’s course in which
students are being awarded a double diploma. Primarily in English, EPOG is based on the
specific and internationally recognized skills embedded in each of the institutions taking part
in EPOG, namely the Berlin School of Economics and Law (Germany), Kingston University (United Kingdom), the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa)
the University degli Studi Roma Tre (Italy)
, Université Paris Diderot and Université Paris 13.

Objectifs

The key objective of EPOG is to train high-level experts in macroeconomics, finance,
sustainability and the ecological transition. EPOG is an innovative and unique master program
that systematically articulates sustainability issues with macroeconomics, innovation, corporate
responsibility and development. Seasoned experts in critical thinking, endowed with a broad
culture in economics and management, students graduating from EPOG are able to bring a new
perspective to the complex economic phenomena as they occur in today’s globalized world.

Compétences visées

The value added:

Most Master's degrees in economics focus on very narrow fields or specific regions of the world. The added value specific to the EPOG Master's course is its provision of the dual skill of expertise in a particular field and the ability to deal with the complex and systemic dimensions of economic policies, which to our knowledge is not provided by any other European Master's course in economics. The EPOG Master's will:

- provide students with in-depth skills to deal with different economic areas that generally require specialized training;

- include multidisciplinary contributions (law, sociology, geography and history, etc.) all of which are necessary for proficiency in economic policies in the context of current changes in the global economy.

The program is based on the specific institutional and holistic approaches of economic policies.

An expertise in the field of knowledge and innovation... and more:

In the track, the economic policies of knowledge and innovation is the main area of the course teaching, with particular emphasis on applied approaches, theories based on real national systems and regimes of innovation, and an interdisciplinary approach (notably economics and law of intellectual property and economics of education and culture, which constitute main pillars for a knowledge economy). In order for the students to be able to deal with the complex and systemic dimensions of economic policies, lectures will be given on topics such as the analysis of macroeconomic dynamics and policies in real and financial dimensions, or such as development policies.
